Who We Are

Theta Capital Management B.V. is an independent asset manager and investment advisor dedicated to the growth and preservation of client capital and focusing exclusively on hedge funds.

Historically, our clients were mainly 'classic' hedge fund investors, being high net worth private individuals, family offices and trusts, predominantly residing in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. This has enabled us to gradually build a sophisticated and scalable platform for investing in hedge funds and we are now working for an increasing number of institutional clients.

Theta started managing client assets in segregated accounts in September 2001. Each of these clients can express his own preferences in terms of risk/return, investment style allocation, liquidity, correlation with traditional asset classes such as equities and bonds, and country limitations. On March 1, 2003 we started as investment advisor of the Vermeer Multi Strategy Fund. On February 1, 2004 we launched the Theta Multistar Fund, a well-diversified portfolio of hedge funds active in multiple investment strategies. Both funds are regulated by the Autoriteit Financiële Markten (AFM). On 1 July 2006, Theta launched the Theta Deep Value Fund, a concentrated portfolio of hedge funds dedicated to less-liquid investment strategies.

Theta Capital Management has an asset management licence from the Autoriteit Financiële Markten (AFM) and is regulated by the Dutch Central Bank (DNB). To demonstrate our commitment to ethical behaviour and the protection of our clients’ interests, Theta has implemented the CFA Institute’s Asset Manager Code of Professional Conduct.
